Wander through thousands of glowing lights, lose yourself in an immersive soundtrack and experience one of #NOVUM26's most breathtaking installations as it shifts, shimmers and comes alive around you.
About Submergence
Step into a breathtaking world of light, sound and movement.
Created by internationally acclaimed light artists Squidsoup, Submergence is an immersive walk-through experience made from thousands of glowing points of light suspended all around you. Wander through the installation at your own pace as the lights shimmer, pulse and shift, responding to the movement of people in the space, while an atmospheric soundtrack surrounds you.
Lasting around 12 minutes, the experience unfolds through a series of changing scenes, each with its own mood, colours and energy, building towards a spectacular finale.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Step inside Submergence – an immersive walk-through installation made from thousands of glowing points of light.
- Wander freely through the space as the lights and atmospheric soundtrack shift and change around you.
- A 12-minute experience that unfolds through a series of changing light scenes, each with its own mood and energy.
- A spectacular, Instagram-worthy experience that’s perfect to enjoy at your own pace.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Saturday 1.30pm-5pm & Sunday 1.30pm -4pm
- Allow around 12 minutes to experience the full installation.
- You can move freely through the space and stay with the flow of the experience.
- Suitable for all ages.
- The installation contains low lighting, moving lights and immersive sound.
- Photography is encouraged; just be mindful of other visitors.
- Accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs.
- An accessible toilet is available.
- A member of the team will be in the Civic Centre foyer to welcome you and direct you to the Banqueting Hall.
