About Afterglow Silent Disco
Round up your mates, grab a drink and step inside one of the most spectacular dancefloors you’ll ever experience.
Set within Submergence by internationally acclaimed light artists Squidsoup, you’ll dance beneath thousands of glowing points of light that pulse, shimmer and swirl around you, transforming the space into an unforgettable late-night playground.
Three DJs. Three channels. One epic soundtrack. Whether you’re all about 90s nostalgia, 00s anthems, indie floor-fillers, guilty pleasures or today’s biggest hits, there’s a channel with your name on it.
Forget sticky nightclub floors. This is an immersive artwork you can dance inside.
Hosted by the legendary Awesome Silent Discos – the team behind the sell-out silent discos at Newcastle Cathedral, St Edward’s Bay and Cullercoats Bay – expect huge singalongs, questionable dance moves, loads of laughs and the kind of night you’ll still be talking about long after the headphones come off.
Pay bar available throughout the evening.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- A silent disco inside Submergence – an immersive light installation of glowing lights.

- Wireless headphones provided.
- A buzzing festival atmosphere with dancing, singalongs and big night-out energy.
- Pay bar available throughout the evening.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Doors open at 7pm, with the silent disco running until 11pm.
- The Banqueting Hall is wheelchair accessible with step-free access throughout.
- An accessible toilet is available.
- A member of the team will be in the Civic Centre foyer to welcome you and direct you to the Banqueting Hall.
- Pay bar will be open throughout serving alcoholic drink and softies.
