About Bird Rave
Bird Rave is a joyful celebration of extraordinary birds, and the freedom-to-dance spirit of classic UK rave culture. Part immersive performance, part dancefloor ornithology, a flock of high-energy performers reimagine the movements of extraordinary birds to a soundtrack of classic old-school rave anthems.
Expect feathers, floor-fillers, and seriously impressive bird-spotting as audiences catch a few rave moves, and party alongside everything from hummingbirds and hooded crows to ravens, cockatoos, and the fabulously named Andean Cock-of-the-rock.
Silly, surprising, and completely unflappable, Bird Rave is a euphoric celebration of nature, 90s nightlife, and letting your inner party bird soar.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- A lively festival atmosphere packed with music, movement, and joyful chaos.
- A playful outdoor performance blending bird-inspired choreography, classic rave tunes, and interactive dancefloor fun.
- Performers bring birds to life through dance and physical theatre.
- Themes of freedom, self-expression, connection, and collective joy.
- At the end of the show, audiences of all ages are invited to join in.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Performance duration: approximately 25 minutes.
- This is an outdoor event, so arriving early is recommended for the best viewing spot.
- Audiences are free to come and go; stay for five minutes or enjoy the full performance.
- Suitable for all ages.
- The performance is playful, inclusive, relaxed, and participatory.
- Audience participation is encouraged at the end of the show, but you’re equally welcome to just watch from the sidelines.
- Expect 90s music, high-energy movement, and feel-good festival vibes throughout.
- A downloadable Bird Rave guide will be available to help audiences with their “bird spotting”.
