Go big, get colourful and leave your mark at #NOVUM26; enjoy colouring in our giant outdoor blocks and contribute to a giant collaborative artwork throughout the weekend.
About Colour Outside the Lines
Big blocks. Bright colours. Zero rules.
Help transform giant outdoor blocks into a festival-sized masterpiece by adding your own colours and creative flair. Whether you’re a future street artist in the making or just here for the scribbles, everyone’s invited to make their mark!
Created by artists Josie Brookes and Tom Madge, the bold designs take inspiration from Newcastle Civic Centre and everything around it from striking architecture and hidden patterns to nature, public art and the little details you might otherwise walk straight past.
Look closer. Colour bigger. Notice more.
Pens provided and big imaginations encouraged.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Larger-than-life outdoor blocks ready to be filled with colour and creative flair.
- A fun, relaxed mindful colouring in activity where anyone can have a go.
- A chance to leave your mark on #NOVUM26 and help co-creatre a masterpiece.
GOOD TO KNOW
- This is a drop-in activity, come and go as you please.
- Suitable for all ages; children should be accompanied by an adult.
- All colouring pens are provided.
- The artwork will grow and evolve throughout the weekend as more people add their creativity.
- The workshop is best suited to adults and children aged 8+, although visitors of all ages are welcome to explore the installation.
- Photos are encouraged; we’d love to see your colourful creations. Share them using #NOVUM26
- 11am – 5pm (Saturday) & 11am – 4pm (Sunday)
