“Shy Bairns Get Nowt” is a show from Newcastle Circus Arts, exploring what it means to be northern for young people today. It’s a celebration of youth, Newcastle and the importance of investing in young people, community and collective future. The show uses circus, theatre and music to deliver a high quality breath taking show performed by Newcastle’s ONLY youth circus. The show will comprise of aerial acrobatics, theatre ensemble, acrobatics, comedy and dance. The show will be a large spectacle for all audiences and leave viewers feeling proud, empowered and inspired. “Shy Bairns Get Nowt” translates to shy children get nothing, it’s a story of being heard and seen. It’s a chance for young people to share their own experiences of what it means to live in Newcastle and how incredible the city is.

The venue and festival site are wheelchair and pushchair accessible.

Please note that outdoors some surfaces will be uneven, and some activity takes place on the grass.

There will be a break out / quiet space available.

Staff and Volunteers will be available to direct you.
